Unlike this website, the international relations and the entire world around us aren't black and white...
With my expertise I aim to help you to understand nuances and historical dynamics of the Eastern European area and its ongoing flirtation with the Western Europe.
I am a Polish scholar based in the Netherlands specialised in transnational history and cultural encounters, particularly between Poland and the Netherlands.
I received my PhD degree from the University of Groningen in 2012, in the Arts, Culture and Media studies. In 2013 I received an award for young scholars from the KNAW (Royal Dutch Academy of Science). Since 2020 I lecture at the Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication. Earlier in my career I was a post doctoral researcher at the NIOD in Amsterdam. Within past 5 years I was honoured with short and long term academic fellowships from the IfZ in Munich, the Imre Kertész Kolleg in Jena and the Göttingen Institute for Advanced Study.
